MEXICO!!! COLORADO!!!

Where do we even start with this one?....our vacation was incredible~eventful, fun, scary, restful, and more than we ever expected. It began with a sweet time in Colorado with my family, and then Jeremy and I said goodbye to our boys for the first time ever (for an extended period of more than a day) and went on an incredible trip for our 5 year anniversary to MEXICO! Our plane trip to Mexico was interesting, including an emergency/crash landing in Phoenix due to a plane that had one hydraulic system down and after the rough, fast landing, also had no front steering/brakes. That put us in the first night to our resort about 5 hours later than originally planned, but we got there!!!
How do we even describe the serene beauty that surrounded us there? They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, but the pictures still don't do this place justice!! So here they are, the things we enjoyed....
The Resort, El Dorado Seaside Suites:

the water:

time with each other. no kids, no agenda, just the two of us:

Other bonuses included excellent food, icy delicious beverages, cool ocean breezes smelling of salt, live music every night, staying up late, 24 hour room service, laying all day on a beach bed, snorkeling, sea cayaking, and holding hands that are usually holding little ones.

Meanwhile, those little ones were partying in Colorado with Nana and Papa. Micah and Tyler played their little hearts out going golfing, to the Colorado Springs Zoo, the North Pole, the park, and just enjoying time with their very special Nana and Papa.

We were sad to leave the view....

But enjoyed the view even more when we got back...

"2nd Annual 4th of July Vaca with issues"

Our friends, the Kayls came to beautiful KC for the 2nd annual 4th of July vacation with us. As always, when there are 4 adults and 5 children (all under the age of 3), there were countless memories and a few little "issues." Here are ours and the kids top ten memories from the week...
1. Meeting new baby Caleb

2. Swimming at our friends pool

3. Playing in the kiddie pool at Grandmom and Poopah's house (by the end, even the Kayl boys were calling Paul and Susan this)

4. Bathtime together after we discovered Ezra had gone dookie in the kiddie pool and the kids had been drinking the water.

5. Date night at the Plaza

6. Sidewalk chalk in the hot Kansas sun

7. A nighttime swim for big people only (that's Jerome diving in)

8. Noah learning to do flips off the diving board

9. 4th of July party and playtime with friends

10. Watching the little ones experience the wonder of fireworks for the first time

What a blessing it was to enjoy old friends, and watch our kids now as they enjoy new friends in each other!
