61 degrees in Heaven?

A crisp cool 61 degrees in Overland Park today, and we almost feel like we're in Colorado again. Well, besides being away from family....and friends...and the mountains...Ok, so it's not Colorado, but still an incredibly beautiful day. We worship God today in the created things around us that we can't help but just marvel at - the stunning cloudless blue sky, the small perfected features of Tyler's face, Micah's growing tenderness, and the blessing of each other. Date night ruled. We shared laughs and kisses and had a blast at Dean & Deluca.
Tonight brings practice for worship (we lead the church in worship on Sunday), followed by a cookout for two after the boys go to bed - beer, brauts, and sitting on the porch enjoying the change of seasons.

It's date night!

It's Wednesday and we have the night off from leading worship for the Wornall youth group, so we are going on a date! It will probably include going to Dean and Deluca to share a ceasar salad together, and then taking a walk in the beautiful cloudy weather. Can't wait to wear our sweaters! The boys will enjoy a fun night at Grandmoms.

Mr. Micah's favorite phrase today: "In a basket" He said this all morning as he attempted to squeeze his entire body into one of our small laundry baskets.
Tyler is happy today and much more vocal than usual. He is starting to move his eyebrows around and get very expressive when he talks.
Jeremy has had a good day at work and was able to take a prayer walk in the beautiful oncoming fall weather on his break.
Ashley had a full day of boys, laundry (3 loads), cleaning, quiet time, and getting ready for tonight.

Smitten at age 2

Today's High:
Micah, our almost 2 year old, went to the park to play and met his first little girl friend. Her name was Ritanna, and he called her "tanna." They played together for an hour until it was time to go. as we left, he was waving and saying "bye bye, tanna." As we began to walk away, she ran upto him, put her little hands on his face, and planted a big kiss right on his lips. He said her name all the way home, and as I put him down for naptime he said "night night, tanna" When I asked him if he loved her he said "yeah...kiss" and put his fingers up to his lips. He is obviously smitten, and only at the age of 2!
